Emefiele says I&E window raked in $50b in three years

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) Forex Window initiative has attracted over $50 billion in investment in the past three years, the CBN said.

CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele broke the news in Abuja at the opening of the Regional Course on Exchange Rate Regimes and Policies organised by the West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM).

He also explained why the apex bank introduced multiple exchange rate regimes.

Giving a rundown of the various exchange rate regimes the CBN has introduced over time, Emefiele said the I&E Window had recorded high success. He was represented by the bank’s Deputy Director of Monetary Policy Department, Mrs. Omolara Duke.
