Enugu govt receives report of Inter- Ministerial Committee on school sports
The Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Barrister Lloyd Ekweremadu, has restated the desire of Governor Peter Mbah to bring back school sports in the state.
Ekweremadu, who made the disclosure during the presentation of the report of Inter- Ministerial Committee on School Sports over the weekend, assured that Mbah’s administration was keen on re- introducing school sports in the State.
He commended the committee for their comprehensive market survey of equipment , tireless work and commitment to the project and assured them that their efforts will not be in vain.
Presenting the report the Technical Chairman and Head of Coaching Department, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr Ephraim Ochonma, a Deputy Director, thanked the commissioner for the confidence reposed on them.
According to him: “Since the inauguration of the Committee on January 23, 2024, the Committee had been vigorous and steadfast in it’s assignment to ensure a comprehensive report. ”
Ochonma lauded the commissioner for his passion for sports development in the State.
In his remarks, Mr Obiora Obasi prayed that the report be implemented to help improve sports in the State.
Members of the committee include, the Head of Administration Ministry of Youth and Sports and Chairman of the Committee, Mrs Tina Egesi, Mr Obiora Obasi, Secretary, Mr Ephraim Ochomma, Mrs Fransica Ngozi Owo, Mrs Florence Chinenye Chukwu and Mr Emeka Chime the three staff of Post Primary Schools Management Board.
