Ex-Governor of Cross River State Kicks Against Zoning

A former Presidential Candidate under the Social Democratic Party – SDP and former Governor of Cross River State, Mr. Donald Duke has kicked against zoning arrangements in the 2023 governorship election in the state.

Mr. Duke while interacting with newsmen in his country home at Diamond Hill – Calabar on new year day said there has never been a time when candidates from other Senatorial Districts have not contested elections despite the Calabar – Ogoja Accord where the most credible candidate always emerged the winner and his victory was contested in Election Tribunals.

He openly condemned the myopic reasoning of some persons who see the upcoming 2023 governorship elections as an avenue to propagate their ethnic agenda to the detriment of not allowing a level playing field for the most suitable aspirant like Senator Sandy Onor of the Central Senatorial District to try his luck and advised political parties to give tickets to their qualified aspirant.
