Faith based organisation charges Christians to posses rock faith to survive economic hardship in Nigeria

Given the hunger and anger in Nigeria caused by unprecedented rise in food prices as well as the high insecurity which impacts the life of every day Nigerian, the National Director of Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International-Nigeria, Professor Martin Meremikwu has admonished Christians to posses Rock Faith to survive in this turbulent times in the country and serves as the theme of his discourse.

Professor Meremikwu who is a tenured professor of Pediatrics and Child Health at College of Medical Sciences in University of Calabar as well as the current Director of Cochrane Nigeria gave the charge as main testifier at Golden Chapter breakfast meeting held on Saturday March 16, 2024 in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

Referencing Mathew 7:24-27 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And when rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock, and everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand, and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell and great was the fall of it,” he urged Christians in the country to put their trust and hope in God to survive the current hardship.

Also corroborating his message, the chapter secretary and retired permanent secretary in the Cross River State Civil Service, Comrade Victor Inameti implored Christians not to despair as tough times don’t last, but tough people do.

The chapter President, Prof. Offiong Ani Offiong, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Stalwart in Calabar Municipal Council Area of Cross River State and former member of the Cross River State House of Assembly now professor of Linguistics and Communication Studies at the University of Calabar used the occasioned to caution youths against the “Japa syndrome as things will soon be better in the country attributing his recent defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress “APC” in ward 6, Calabar municipality in Southern Senatorial District as a divine call to service.

Prominent members of the FGBMFI at the meeting was a business man and electrical materials merchant and field representative, Mr. Imoh Nse.

The Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International is a global fellowship of lay businessmen with the main purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The organization has it’s root in Pentecostalism and was founded in 1951 by Armenian wealthy dairy farmer Demos Shakarian with headquarters in Irvine, California, USA with slogan “His Banner over us is love”
