Federal high court nullifies APC primary in Cross River Central Senatorial District
The federal high court has nullified the APC Cross River Central senatorial primary election in the suit filed by Mary Ekpere-Eta who challenged the outcome of the primaries.
Justice Fadima Aminu, presiding over the pre-election special task force, has nullified the primary election of the APC central senatorial district held on 28th May 2022.
The court dismissed the 14 preliminary objections raised by the defendants and held that the primary election was not monitored by INEC.
No, proof from the result sheet submitted to INEC indicated that any INEC official monitored the election.
The Chairman of the election committee did not sign the initially submitted result sheet to INEC though the defendants did hurriedly produce another sheet that the chairman signed thereby contradicting the result.
In line with Electoral Act when a primary election is nullified the Party has 14 days to conduct a fresh election.
