FG to Cushion Impact of Hike in Prices of Petroleum; Electricity

President Muhammadu Buhari says his administration would continue to seek for ways and means of mitigating the pains of the higher prices on petroleum and electricity for Nigerians, especially the most vulnerable.

This disclosure was made on Monday by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who represented President Buhari at the opening of a two day First Year Ministerial Performance Review Retreat, held at the Conference Centre of the State House in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said at the fora that the government would remain alert to its responsibilities, to ensure that marketers do not exploit citizens, by raising pump prices arbitrarily. The reaction of government however is not unconnected with the condemnations from organized labour, NUPENG, civil organisations and Nigerians of the increase in the pump price of petrol and electricity tariff.
