FG to Refund N148.14 Billion to Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River and 2 others
The Federal Government has sent a request to the Senate asking for approval of N148.14 billion to reimburse five states.
The demand is contained in a letter read on the floor of the red chamber by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan at plenary on Tuesday.
The refund is expected to be facilitated in the form of promissory note payable to the five states for rehabilitating federal highways in their domains. Analysis of the repayment shows that Rivers State is entitled to collect N78.9 billion, the highest receipient. Others in the order of entitlements are Bayelsa N38.4b, Cross River N18.3billion, Ondo 7.8 and Osun N4.5 billion.
