Fmr. state legislator felicitates national assembly member representing Odukpani/Calabar
The former member representing Calabar Municipal State Constituency in Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Efa Esua has congratulated Hon. Bassey Akiba, a fellow parishioner at Presbyterian Church of Nigeria (PCN) Ediba Qua Parish in Calabar Municipal Council Area, Cross River State.
This is as the people of Odukpani-Calabar Federal Constituency roll-out drums to appreciate God in a thanksgiving service scheduled for June 17, 2023 to thank God for his divine grace in honour of Rt. Hon. Bassey Akiba, member representing Odukpani-Calabar Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Hon. Esua while fielding questions from newsmen in Calabar on Thursday June, 15, 2023 thanked God for his benevolence towards the House of Rep member which defied human comprehension during the February 25, 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections which he described as a miracle given Hon. Akiba’s defeat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party candidate Ntufam Edim Inok who scored 21,160 votes and the incumbent Peoples Democratic Party candidate Hon. Etta Mbora who had 19,584 votes.
Recall Hon. Bassey Akiba of the Labour Party (LP) received 23,759 votes to win Calabar/Odukpani Federal Constituency election to the surprise of many political pundits at the keenly contested polls.
Hon. Akiba is a former chairman of Odukpani Local Government Area and had represented the Odukpani State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly.
