Governor Ayade hailed for disbanding task force on Timber Exploitation, Timber merchant mobilizes for Obi
Timber merchants and property developers in Cross River State have hailed the disbandment of an illegal Task Force on Timber Exploitation which had almost crumbled the building industry in the state due to their nefarious activities.
Governor Ben Ayade yesterday issued the warning to deal decisively with anybody or group of persons engaged in disturbing the relative peace existing in the state through a press statement signed by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary Mr. Linus Obogo on Thursday, September, 1st 2022.
Speaking to newsmen in Separate inferiors, some Timber dealers at Akim and MCC/Asari Eso Timber Market expressed gratitude to the Governor for bringing Sanity to the business which has extant rules than a situation where interlopers caused confusion by their illegal activities which caused many building roots to have iron struts instead of timber which was more affordable.
A prominent Calabar-based businessman and the Managing Director of O. Ezenwa and Sons aka Okey plywood, Mr. Okechukwu Ezenwa while fielding questions from LENS Reporter in Calabar on Friday thanked the Cross River State Governor, Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade for disbanding the old Task Force on timber exploitation in the state due to their unwholesome activities.
But an environmentalist who preferred to talk on condition of anonymity called for proper management of forest resources of the state so as not to cause ecological damage to the ecosystem and deplete the wildlife conservation resources of the forest.
And as the race to who occupies Aso Rock in 2023 gathers momentum by contending candidates of political Parties, Ezenwa who is the leader of the Friends of Peter Obi in Cross River has taken the campaign for Peter Obi to emerge Nigeria’s president to the nooks and crannies of Cross River State.
Ezenwa in collaboration with the Obidients Movement visited Ikang Town, the business hub in Bakassi Local Government Area to sensitize the people on the need to vote for Peter Obi in the 2023 general elections harping on his pedigree of transparency, honesty, and prudence in the management of economic resources of Anambra State when he was the Executive Governor.
He promised to take the Obi Campaign drive to every local government in Cross River State and implored the electorates to vote for the Cross River State Southern Senatorial Candidate, Rt. Hon. Ntufam Daniel Asuquo aka “DANSUKI” in the 2023 general elections for him to replicate his feat as a representative of Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency in the lower House of the National Assembly. He said the same gesture should be extended to other credible party candidates in the country.
