Governor Otu assures people of northern senatorial district inclusiveness in appointments

Cross River Governor Sen. Bassey Edet Otu has assured the people of Cross River North Senatorial District of inclusiveness in appointments and other engagements of his administration.

He made this commitment today, 9th October, 2023, while playing host to the Cross River North APC Elders Advisory Council in Calabar, and noted that appointments under his watch are strategically done to arrive at a political equilibrium.

He lauded the people for their support of his administration, maintaining that the North cannot be ignored in the political equation of Cross River State.

Furthermore, he restated his administration’s commitment to completing the Obudu Cargo Airport started by his predecessor, Prof. Ben Ayade, as well as returning the Ranch Resort to its pride of place as Nigeria’s tourist haven. He promised to build a Governor’s lodge in Ogoja to spread government representation in the Northern Senatorial District.

Otu lauded the quality of appointees from the North in his administration, noting that his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, whom he described as a worthy support base, is leading a legion of competent allies who are adding value to the ‘Peoples First’ agenda of his government reassuring that “we are definitely going some where.”

The Chairman of the North APC Elders Advisory Council, Ntufam Fidelis Ugbo, said the visit was in solidarity with the governor on his victory at the tribunal, pledging their unwavering support.

Also, Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu is set to flag off palliative distribution in Cross River State.

The palliative distribution and flag-off is set to commence today, 10th October, 2023 at Management Development Institute, Mary Slessor Avenue.

A press release made available by his Chief Press Secretary,  Emmanuel Ogbeche, said the flag-off will be held by 2:00 PM prompt and members of the public are advised to be seated by 1:30 PM.
