Governor Otu pledges government support to Hit 95.9FM Calabar entertainment conference

The 7th Edition of HIT 95.9FM Calabar Entertainment Conference has been commended by Governor Bassey Otu who was the special guest of honour at the Friday event held at the Cultural Center Complex, Calabar.

In a speech delivered on his-behalf by the Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, he assured of government support in the next edition of the conference.

The event themed “Discover, Define and Rebrand” aimed at repositioning the entertainment industry in the State was designed to congregate stake-holders in the entertainment sub-sector of the economy and brainstorm with a view to garnering business boosting clues to benefit participants.

In his opening remark, the Chief Executive Officer, and Managing Director Mr. Patrick Ugbe said the annual event is aimed at supporting the State government in human capacity development from within and outside the shores of Cross River already blessed with huge talent pool that can be harnessed and exported with inherent potential for economic gain.

The premier private radio station in Calabar was established on February 1st, 2016 and ranked by MPS as number one in its operating region since commercial broadcast commenced in 2016.

Aside entertainment, HIT 95.5FM has embarked on several CSR projects, including the clean Calabar project, charity outreaches to orphanage and homes for the elderly, hospitals as well as distribution of palliatives during the Covid-19 pandemic lock-down.

Compeers at the occasion were Uke Ogah, Robert Ekpo, while Regina Omini and Bisong Fortune Ossar moderated the well attended event held on Friday October 6, 2023 at Mail Bowl of the Cultural Center Complex, Calabar.

Messages were received from sponsors including the United State Consulate General in Nigeria, Multi-Choice, DSTV, Levene Energy Holding Ltd. and partners.

Speakers at the event who talked on specific topics were Hon. Stanley Nsemo, Member Representing Calabar Municipal State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Tope Oshunkeye and Yinka Adebayo.

Guest Artiste Majeed performed while Nigerian actor Eta Iwara and Barrister Amanda Uzoagba gave pep talk and counselled musicians on how to navigate the complex legal landscape of the music industry.
