Governor Wike commissions new roads, commends Udom on legacy projects

The Rivers State governor, Mr Nyesom Wike, has said that the legacy projects inaugurated by his counterpart, Mr Udom Emmanuel Akwa Ibom state governor are landarks that would generate employment opportunities for the teeming youths in the state.

He made this observation after the commissioning of 13.2km network of roads and foundation laying ceremony of Akwa Ibom State University Teaching Hospital in Onna local government council on Wednesday.

Wike commended the governor for his performance, saying his legacy projects would create more employment opportunities for Akwa Ibom people.

The Rivers State governor said he was amazed that Udom have many projects to showcase in just one day which has transformed the state.

Wike who spoke in Pidgin said the petrochemical factory in Eastern Obolo was capable of generating thousands of job opportunities for youths in the State, while the new teaching hospital in Onna would reduce the number of people going to Uyo for tertiary health care services.

He expressed satisfaction on the quality of road project, hoping that the road would boost economic activities in all the adjourning rural communities.

The hospital project is in partnership with Bua Group who has announced already a first tranche support of N2.5bn towards the project.

At Eastern Obolo local government council, the Rivers state governor layed the foundation stone of the Sterling Petro-Chemicals and Fertilizer Production Factory.
