Governorship aspirant opens campaign office for Sen. Kalu’s presidential bid in Calabar

A gubernatorial aspirant in Cross River Obol Suliaman Offiong has opened a campaign office in Calabar for Senator (Dr.) Orji Uzor Kalu, a former governor of Abia State and Chief whip in the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly.

Offiong who briefed some journalists at the Diamond road location of the campaign office on Thursday disclosed that the clamour for rotation of the office of the president between the North and South in the 2023 general elections gives Orji Uzor Kalu leverage as a candidate from the South-Eastern part of the country who is entitled by reason of equity and fairness having not produced a democratically elected president since independence.

He urged the South-South region to support a candidate from the south-East saying he strongly believed that Senator (Dr.) has the requisite experience to lead Nigeria given his antecedent in business and politics.
