Hon Mbora announces intent to contest mayorship of Calabar Municipality
There was traffic gridlock on the ever-busy Diamond Hill Road in Calabar, Cross River State on Saturday, Aug. 6 when Hon. Chief Emmanuel Mbora popularly known as the political “SWAMP BUGGY” of Calabar and All Progressives Congress (APC) Chapter Chairman consulted with all ward leaders in Calabar Municipal over his intention to vie for the Chairmanship seat in the Calabar Municipal council area.
The event which attracted critical stakeholders like Ntufam Edim Inok, former Peoples Democratic Party- PDP State Chairman and APC Odukpani- Calabar Municipal Federal Constituency Candidate for 2023 general elections, and Obol Sulaiman Offiong among others, witnessed a huge turn-out of Keke NAPEP tricyclists empowered by the aspirant and Women Association from Marian market led by Madam Mma Ifot who came to show solidarity and support for the vision and campaign slogan tagged “MAKE POOR MAN FOLLOW CHOP.”
In their speeches at the gathering, the ASSURANCE 2023 Campaign Director General, Mr. John Williams, and member Bassey Nya revealed that if Hon. Mbora could work for others to emerge as Chairman of Calabar Municipal Council in the past, it is now his turn to benefit from the system.
The President of One Love Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society, Mr. Joe Mbora, and Publicity Secretary Mr. Ubong Uko said if Hon. Mbora could impact the lives of the less privileged in society while not holding a public office like chairman, he will do more if he emerges as the Mayor of Calabar in the 2023 Local Government Council Elections.
The former Special Adviser, Department of Public Transportation (DOPT), Emmanuel Mbora promised to operate an open door policy where he will carry everybody along in his administration if he wins in the election and appealed for prayers and support from all and sundry for him to succeed in his mission to take Calabar Municipality to the next level as an emerging metropolitan city worthy of the name “CANAAN CITY.”
