Hooligans went Berserk in Calabar, Maim and Torch Buildings
Criminals capitalized on the #EndSarrs protest across the country to unlesh terror on the streets of Calabar, the Cross River State capital, looting and setting ablaze some public and private properties.
Some of the buildings torched are the new building of the Nigeria Labor Congress, NLC, and the Calabar Municipality Zonal Office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, a section of the Nigerian Chronicles Newspaper building owned by Cross River State Government and the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA office .
One of the key private shopping malls attacked was the Value Mart owned by wife of former Governor of Cross River State, Obioma Liyel Imoke.
The mayhem happened notwithstanding the 24 hour curfew imposed by Governor Ben Ayade which took effective from 6pm on Friday.
The rampaging mob brandished den guns, cutlasses, axes and other harmful objects, inflicted injuries on people they come across.
Meanwhile, a combine force of the Police, Army and Navy restored the abnormally.
