‘I will not allow Nigeria sink’ _ Akpabio
The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio has officially declared his intention to run for President of the country under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) promising not to allow Nigeria to sink.
He gave this assurance while declaring his intention Wednesday to run for the highest office in the country in 2023 at Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium in Akwa Ibom state adding that if given the opportunity, he would bring restoration, dignity, respect, and succor to Nigerians.
The former Akwa Ibom State Governor while addressing the mammoth crowd from across the country during his declaration at the Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium, stated that he would restore the days of glory experienced in Akwa Ibom in the country.
According to him, as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, 88 road projects which would have been abandoned if not for the fear of forensic audit initiated by the commission were completed by contractors, saying that, his wealth of experience as governor and as minister qualifies him for the office of the President.
“You have heard a lot of declarations but this one is uncommon. It is not only a message of hope, positive continuity and of the Egyptians you see today, you will see no more
“It is a message of restoration, of your dignity, respect in the ECOWAS region and beyond.I am determined not to let our nation sink but drink from the deep well of experiences I have from service.
“I seek your nomination to become your President come 2023,” he said.
The former minority leader and Senator representing Akwa Ibom northwest senatorial district in the National Assembly commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the opportunity to serve as Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs.
“I thank the President for the opportunity given me to make great advances beyond Akwa Ibom State. The President is fighting corruption the way I like corruption to be fought,” he said
