Ikot Uduak Residents Laments Slow Pace of Work at Erotion Site

Some residents of Ikot Uduak erosion site in Calabar, Cross River State have lamented the slow pace of work at the endangered area.

And speaking on the condition of anonymity, a resident of the area said that most of them have been prevented from driving out of their houses due to the delay in executing the project which was awarded in December 2020.

Fielding questions from a LENS reporter, a site engineer with the contractor handling the NEWMAP project disclosed that palliative measures have already been put in place at the Etim Ekpo axis of the site with the intent to commence work after the yuletide season.

The effort to get a comment from the Nigeria watershed Management and Erosion Control Project (NEWMAP) was not enabled at the time of filing this report.
