INEC issues certificate of return to winner of Akpabuyo State Constituency

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Cross River State, Dr. Cyril Omorogbe has issued a certificate of return to Hon. Dr. Ekeng Effiom Edet, member representing Akpabuyo State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly.

Earlier, a by-election was conducted on Saturday, February 26 2022 to fill the vacant seat created by the death of Hon. Elizabeth Ironbar.

Dr. Ekeng Edet, flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party won the by-election with 5866 votes to defeat his closest rival Hon. Bassey Ekpo of the APC polled 5363 votes.

Also, Hon. Dr. Ekeng Edet has been sworn in by the Clerk of the Cross River State House of Assembly as a lawmaker representing Akpabuyo State Constituency.
