Inyang-Eyen, others condoles Senator Akpan over brother’s death
The front-line 2023 senatorial candidate for Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District (Eket Senatorial District), Mr. Ephraim Akparawa Inyang-Eyen, has commiserated the Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District at the National Assembly and YPP’s governorship candidate, Obong Bassey Albert (OBA), on the death of his brother and two staff members.
The deceased include OBA’s brother, Robert Albert Akpan, his PA, Imo Isang, and orderly, Inspector Odey.
In a condolence message signed by Akparawa Inyang-Eyen on behalf of his family and the Redemption Mission Campaign Organization, his 2023 Senate campaign machinery, he described the tragedy as devastating at a critical moment like this, stating that he received the news with crude shock and disillusionment.
“Although we must accept the fact that death is the ultimate end of all mortals, it becomes most excruciating and questionable when it comes in the manner it has befallen your family”, it stated.
Akparawa Inyang-Eyen, therefore, encouraged Obong Bassey Albert to take courage and forge ahead.
He said: “I, therefore, encourage you to accept this tragedy with courage, equanimity, and the faith that the names and deeds of your beloved departed ones are boldly written in the good memory of the Almighty, to whom reward and vengeance belong”.
Inyang-Eyen, who is also a critical member of the AkwaUbokAbasi Campaign Organization, prayed to God to give OBA, his staff, and members of the campaign organization the fortitude to bear the loss.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has expressed deep condolences to the Senator Representing Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan on the demise of his younger brother, the late Akparawa Robert Albert Akpan, and two of his aides, Imoh Isang, who was his Chief Protocol Officer and Police Orderly, late Inspector Linus Odey, who was gruesomely murdered by unknown gunmen in Imo State.
In a statement released on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary and Senior Special Assistant, Media, Ekerete Udoh, Governor Emmanuel said he was “ profoundly saddened by the death of Senator Akpan’s sibling and his close aides.
“The loss of a sibling can be an emotionally wrenching experience.
“To lose two close aides under tragic circumstances, a few hours later, is even more devastating.
“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Akwa Ibom State, I send you our deepest condolences and pray God comfort and console you during this very sad period of mourning.
“Our prayers are with you and your family”, the Governor stated.
Others who have commiserated with the YPP governorship candidate in the state include the APC governorship candidate, Mr Akan Udofia, former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, and Senator Godswill Akpabio among other prominent sons and daughters of the state.
