Inyang-Eyen receives YPP flag as Senatorial Candidate, “I’ve come to serve the people for a difference”
The presentation of the Young Progressives Party’s flag to Mr. Ephraim Akparawa Inyang-Eyen as a final symbol of authority to run for the Senate representing the people of Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District (Eket Senatorial District) in 2023 has been described by his supporters and associates as a triumph over evil and a step closer to the crowning of his Senate ambition contrary to the multiple hurdles and persecutions by the State and cronies.
The former Commissioner of Works and Chief of Staff to Governor Udom Emmanuel received the flag on Monday from the State Chairman of YPP in Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Nyeneime Andy during the official flag-off of National Assembly campaigns in Eket Senatorial District, an event he hosted.
Speaking on receiving the flag, an elated Inyang-eyen said he gave all glory to God for always standing by him and not allowing the thoughts and plans of men to prevail over his destiny. He added that for God to have brought him this far, against the many hurdles and craters he successfully has jumped over, meant that the race is God’s and therefore victory is secured.
And referencing Isaiah 44: 24-27 in the Bible, the frontline senate contender said he has come to deliver a message from God to the people of Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District and to seek their mandate to represent them in order to change the dynamics of representation, change their stories, and by the grace of God, be used to bring succor and give relevance to the Senatorial District, unlike in the past.
“I have a message from the Lord to pass to you. I have come to tell you that God has chosen YPP as a party for the rebuilding of Akwa Ibom State. So, I join the Akwa Ibom people to celebrate the new beginning with Senator Bassey Albert and to represent Eket Senatorial District at the National Assembly come 2023.
“I came to announce that Akwa Ibom people have chosen to take their destiny into their hands. I, therefore, encourage all to take advantage of this season on a new pedestal. The past is gone. The future is in your hands. It is time to do the needful, and the needful is joining the YPP, the party of liberty and redemption. That is the party heaven has ordained for the new Akwa Ibom. And I want to assure you that, with God on my side and your support, I will not fail”, he promised.
On Sunday it was reported that the senatorial candidate held a thanksgiving service to dedicate his campaign at an alternative venue because state actors stopped the event from holding at the scheduled venue and on top of it, caused the suspension of the assembly pastor for accepting to host the event at the alternate venue.
In a chat with the press, his wife Mrs. Ime Inyang-Eyen described the event as God’s will and said the persecutions targeted at thwarting that event were many.
“I am very happy about what God can do. Today’s event is a pointer that God has a mission for Mr. Ephraim Inyangeyen at the Senate in 2023”, she said.
Speaking with newsmen, ONNA local government Chapter Chairman of YPP, Mr. Victor Prince Daniel observed that the emergence of Akparawa Inyang-eyen as a candidate for the senatorial district and the official presentation of the party’s flag to him was the beginning of good things to come to the area.
“This is the first time a candidate that is generally accepted by all has stepped forward to represent us. He is indeed a candidate to beat or let me rather say that he has neither a competitor nor competition. His record of service in all previous positions he has held is his best credential. He is the man of the people, a man of purpose and strong will”, he said.
Flags were also presented to candidates from the three senatorial districts and ten federal constituencies in the State.
Also present at the occasion was the National Chairman of the YYP, Bishop Amakiri, represented by the national financial secretary of the party, Azeez Adewole Ahmed, governorship candidate of the party in Akwa Ibom State, Obong Bassey Albert, and leaders of Akwa UbokAbasi campaign organization, campaign machinery of OBA.
