Jarigbe Urges Leaders To Give Selfless Services To The Country

A People’s Democratic Party Senatorial aspirant in the forthcoming by-election to fill the vacant senatorial seat of Cross River North following the demise of Senator Rose Oko, Rt. Hon Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe has urged leaders in the country to render selfless service to the people rather than personal amassing wealth.

Hon. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe who represents the people of Ogoja/Yala federal constituency in the House of Representatives spoke with The Lens Editor, Onyi Ogar at his residence in Ogoja immediately after the burial ceremony of HRM. Queen Gertrude Amokeye Jedy-Agba, mother to the Minister of State, Ministry of Power.

The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on waterways said infrastructural development, social amenities, and good schools may continue to elude Nigeria unless leaders in the country imbibe the culture of selfless service to the people.

Hon. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe called on the people of Cross River North Senatorial District to elect representatives out of a conviction of their track records rather than selfish and parochial sentiments.

He said that he would address the pressing needs of the people which he identifies as infrastructure and amenities that would have a positive multiplayer effect on the lives of the people.

The PDP Senatorial aspirant also disclosed that he has sponsored many bills in the lower chamber of the National Assembly among which is the bill for the establishment of a Federal University of Technology, Ogoja which has been passed and now awaiting the president’s assent. He named as well the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Ogoja as another of his signature project.
