Kaduna Attacks: Reps ask Nigerians to take arms in defence
The House of Representatives on Thursday moved in favour of a motion asking Nigerians to carry arms in defence of their innocent souls since security agencies have failed in their responsibilities.
The House also called for the resignation of the National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno.
This followed a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Representative Balarabe Shehu who lamented the incessant killings and attacks on citizens of Birnin Gwari and Giwa Local government area of Kaduna State.
Representative Shehu noted that there was no military intervention throughout the attack in the local government areas.
The lawmakers questioned the role of the parliament and its enforcement of resolutions and asked that the House shut down the chambers until the commander in chief takes responsibility
They task the Inspector General of Police with the deployment of a police special operation team to restore normalcy in the area.
