Kano Emir commends Ayade for appointing Kano indigenes into state cabinet
The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has commended the Cross River State Governor Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade for appointing Kano state indigenes as Commissioner, Aides into the state Executive Council in his government and described him as a detribalized Nigerian worthy of emulation.
The Kano Monarch who is in Calabar for an investiture as the 6th Chancellor of the University of Calabar called on other governors to work towards national cohesion by replicating Ayade’s nationalistic gesture.
Bayero made the remark during his courtesy visit to the Governor at the Executive Council chamber of the governor’s office, Calabar, shortly after his arrival at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport as part of itinerary of his visit and expressed his deep appreciation to the Governor for appointing Northerners, especially Kano indigenes into his cabinet.
After investiture of the 6th Chancellor the convocation lecture by the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari (CFR) with the subject “The Leadership and Followership Question in Nigeria: Imperative of Ethical Re-orientation” was held at the Unical International Conference Centre followed by a command performance held at the Chinua Achebe New Arts Theatre while the award of First Degrees, Diplomas, PGD, Masters and induction into Unical Alumni for those found worthy in Character and learning had 7,769 grandaunts’, 11 baged First Class, 899 had Second Class Upper, 3,396 Second Class Lower and 721 came out with third class.
Meanwhile, former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and two other Nigerians including the Chief Executive officer of Northerwest Oil & Gas, Dome Winifred Akpani and business Mogul, Tola Johnson will be conferred with honorary Doctorate Degrees and award of Doctorate Degrees and investiture of Emeritus professor would climax the convocation event to be held at the Abraham Ordia Stadium on Saturday May 6, 2023. A thanks giving service is scheduled at St. Paul’s Parish, Unical on Sunday May 7, 2023.
