Lawmaker to deliver toilet facility at 75 anniversaries of school

The lawmaker representing Calabar Municipality State Constituency in Cross River State House of Assembly Hon. Stanley Nsemo is making available a modern toilet facility for Government Primary School, Ediba Road, Calabar Municipality, Cross River State.

Nsemo made the pledge at the 75th Anniversary of the School on 11th July, 2025 where he represented Chairman of the occasion, Elder (Dr.) Esu Fffiong Esu, Chairman of Cross River State SUBEB which was hosted by Senior Alumnus of the school and Mayor of Calabar, Apostle (Rt. Hon.) James Anam.

The occasion which attracted dignitaries from within and outside Cross River State had in attendance Hon. Ogiji-Idaga Martins Achadu (Ph.D), an old pupil, and Member Representing Yala II State Constituency, and Chairman House Committee on Education in Cross River House of Assembly and wife of Cross River State Governor, Her Excellency, Bishop (Dr.) Mrs. Eyoawan Bassey Edet Otu, Distinguished Guest and Mother of the Day who donated the sum of N1m towards the Education Endowment .

Elder Comrade Iso Bassey Edim, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee and President of the Alumni Association who doubles as Secretary of Calabar Municipal Council Area Commended Head Teacher of Government Primary School, Ediba Road, Calabar, Mrs. Eunice Uno Ethothi for her good works in mid-wifing the smooth celebration.

Events at the occasion included march past by old and present pupils, Cultural Dance and cutting of Anniversary Cake with the State Commissioner for Education, Senator Prof. Stephen Odey as Special Guest of Honour to wind down the event.

Goodwill messages were received from His Royal Majesty, Ndidem of the Qua’s Dr. Eta Bassey Eteta III, Paramount Ruler of Calabar Municipal Council Area and the Vice Chairman of Calabar Municipality, Rt. Hon. Pastor Okon Nyong to the school 75th Anniversary that was established on 11th July, 1950.
