Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, (NMDPRA), Adamawa State Field Office, has embarked on Monitoring Operation in Yola, the state capital to contain the looming fuel scarcity.
About two weeks running, there has been resurfacing queues at petrol filling stations in the Adamawa State capital.
This has caused the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, to draw the attention of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
NLC has accused the fuel marketers in the State of hoarding petroleum products and creating artificial fuel scarcity which resulted in the regulatory body embarking on a monitoring exercise.
The Field Operation Controller, Sadiq Ibrahim, revealed that some marketers are hoarding petroleum products, in anticipation of a hike in pump price.
Petrol filling stations found wanting, have been warned and directed to dispense fuel to motorists or be sanctioned.
