MBGN 2022: Miss Abia Crowned, Miss Edo first runnerup
Against the backdrop of rigorous activities spanning months from the initial huge number to 37 contestants, Miss Abia, Ada Eme has emerged as the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria.
Prior to the grand finale, hundreds of contestants applied out of which 37 of them scaled the screening.
The 34th edition of the pageantry took place at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, Victoria Island on Friday night exuding glamour and colours.
The 37 contestants were on Friday night further screened to 15 by a cream of seasoned judges in which, Miss Abuja, Abia, Edo, Lagos, and Anambra states made the final list of five.
Out of the five, Miss Edo came first runner-up, and Miss Abia won the 2022 MBGN crown.
The five finalists for the night is Miss Abuja, Abia, Edo, Lagos, and Anambra. They were all quizzed to test their intellectual capacity aside from beauty. The beauty queens who made it to the top 5 alongside Ada Eme are Montana Felix (Miss Edo), Ukatu Genevieve (Miss Anambra), Lydia Oluwapelumi Balogun (Miss Lagos) and Uzogheli Ifeoma (Miss Abuja).
Ada will go on to represent Nigeria at the forthcoming Miss World pageant. while Montana Felix, the first runner-up would be Nigeria’s representative at Miss Universe.
Others are Uzogheli Ifeoma won Miss Ecowas, and Oluwapelumi Balogun won Miss Tourism w.
Speaking at the event, the Founder, Silverbird Group, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce described the event as soul-lifting and destiny-changing for the contestants and the eventual winners.
To him, anybody, no matter the background can win, adding that roadside trader had once emerged as the winner of the pageantry.
The event which was hosted by popular actor, Deyemi Okanlawon and former beauty queen, Munachi Abi attracted very important people while there was a live performance from the music group Eltee Skhills who thrill the audience.
