Minister of State appointed BOT Chairman of Arthur Jarvis University
The Management of the first Private University in Cross River State, Arthur Jarvis University has installed the Minister of State for Power, Prince Goddy Jedy Agba as Chairman, Board of Trustees (Bot) of the University located in Akpa.
The event took place at the convocation ceremony of 240 graduants of the Institution about a forth night where the appointee \thanked the management and staff of the University for finding him worthy to serve as the second BOT Chairman after the demise of the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, late Professor Bassey Asuquo who served in the office.
He promised stakeholders of the school that during his tenure as chairman, BOT he will ensure that the board meet the goal assigned it. Earlier, the chancellor of the university, Sir Arthur Jarvis Archibong commended the Minister for accepting to offer his service to the premier private university in Cross River State.
On his part, the vice-chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Ani Nkang said Prince Jedy-Agba was considered for the appointment because of his wealth of experience and the confidence that he will add much value to the institution.
Nkang explained that the ceremony was a combined convocation of graduates from three sets: 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 and revealed that a total of 240 grandaunts received different categories of degrees including 18 First Class, 115 Second Class Upper, 91 Second Class Lower and 161 Third Class.
