My vision for Cross River State _ Sen. Onor

As political activities spike in Nigeria preparatory to the 2023 general elections, the Senator Representing Cross River State Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Prof. Sandy Onor who is also a governorship aspirant, has rolled out a seven-point restoration and development programme to rejig the economy through harnessing the enormous human and natural resources of the state when elected.

The seven thematic areas addressed in his programme to impact the socio-political and economic development of the state include security, economy, infrastructure development, eco-tourism, local government, health, and social welfare.

The aspirant who spoke through the DG of his Caterpillar Movement Campaign Team, Mr. Joe Obi Bisong while engaging with the LENS Reporter in Calabar harped on developing a robust partnership with the security agencies in the state to address lingering security issues in a timely manner.

Bisong disclosed that a Cross River Security Trust Fund would be established to raise money for logistics and other support for the security agencies in the state to better equip them to fight crime, facilitate effective collaboration between the state, local government and traditional institutions, and the security agencies with a view to articulating strategies to tackle crimes in the state.

Another development trajectory according to him is a programme to reorientate the youths and distract them from engaging in deviant behaviors capable of ruining their lives and distorting development in the state.
