NAFDAC seizes 120 tonnes of contaminated ”Ponmo” in Lagos
About 120 tonnes of imported animal hides and skins popularly called ponmo have been intercepted in Lagos
They were intercepted on the suspicion that they were already processed with chemicals for use in leather industries yet they were being sold as foodstuff,
It’s not yet clear from which countries they were imported from. NAFDAC said seven suspects have been arrested.
