Nakanda, Others Emerge Executives Of Cross River State Government House Press Corps

Nakanda Amboni, Thelma Eneji, and Ashie Osor have emerged as Cross River State Government House Press Corps executive council members.

The election that produced them was conducted on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023 at the Presidential Lodge, Calabar which serves as a temporary Governor’s office owing to the ongoing renovation.

Nakanda Iyadim who is an Information Officer in Governor’s Office emerged Chairman; Thelma Eneji, State Correspondent to Channels Television, Secretary; while Ashie Osor of the State Newspaper Corporation, Chronicle,Treasurer.

A total of 16 votes were cast; 15 valid and 1 void vote were recorded.

Nakanda ganered a total of 12 votes to clench the Chairman position against Sunny Inah who trailed 3 votes.

The election was monitored by the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to Governor Bassey Otu – Mr. Edem Darlington; Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronics Media – Imani Odey, and the Special Assistant, New Media – Andrea Inyang Ekeng.

Nakanda in his remark appreciated his predecessor, Rasheed Oluwareju, and everyone who were present despite the short notice, and solicited for their cooperation to function optimally.

“While we serve here and while we serve the governor, someone should be there as a spokesperson at every point to solicit for our welfare and better working conditions for members and that is what we want to do.

“I want to do it transparently and want to do it with all your cooperation.”
