New Commissioner of Police resumes in Cross River
There is a change-of-batton in Cross River State Police Command as former Deputy Commissioner of Police at the Department of Operations in Kano State, Sule Balarabe has replaced CP Aminu Alhassan.
CP Balarabe was appointed Darlin Dawaki Mai Tuta Gaya by the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir in 2021.
Before his departure, CP Alhassan in a valedictory talk in Sparkling FM in Calabar said The major crime in Cross River State was cultism followed by kidnapping which his tenure was able to tackle and make the state safer and called on Cross Riverians to give his successor the needed security cooperation which has diminished crime rate in the State.
In a related development a 29-year-old man, Mr. Victor Adung has narrated his ordeal in the hands of spiritualists over his search for his mother who he said was separated from his father when he was infant.
The Cross River State indigene and graduate of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro who is awaiting call-up for the mandatory NYSC Scheme said he lost his father when he was 23years old.
He revealed that several attempts to trace his mother who he said hailed from Edo State name Julianna failed as a result he decided to consult spiritual homes where he was extorted but without tangible closure other that his mother was alive. He appealed to the media to assist him in the search as he is dearly in need of a lead or information to locate her where-about.
