It was a glorious scene to behold as sister Patience Edet Udoh was joined in holy matrimony to Brother Promise Etim Ibanga of Nigerian Correction Service, Ikot Abasi command Akwa Ibom State in the conference hall of Dekka Hotels, Akai Efa in Calabar last Saturday.
The event conducted under covid-19 protocol was in tandem with Jehovah’s witnesses doctrine and featured mock court sitting to authenticate the union, exchange of rings, confirmation of nuptial vows, cutting of wedding cake and dance by the happy couple.
In his exhortation, Chairman of the occassion Brother and Sister Akpanke cautioned the couple to guard against gossip, rumor-mongering, blind jealousy, undue provocation over trivial issues, undforgiving spirit and never to invite a third party into thier mis-understandings as there is bound to be one since they come from different parental backgrounds if they want to have a happy family.
Feilding questions from LENS reporter, fatehr of the bride, Engr. Edet Udo and the groom’s father Mr. Etin Ibanga urged the couples to have the fear of God , true love for one-another in every circumstance, and mutual respect for each other. They expressed gratitude to God for making the event a success and appreciated guests for honouring and gracing the occasion. Both parents signed the documents to validate the union and the certificate was thereafter issued to the bride by the marriage registerer.
