Newlywed couple admonished to anchor their marriage on Jesus Christ

Newlywed Christian couples have been implored to build their relationship on Jesus Christ, the rock of the Christian faith, as the foundation of the family in other to enjoy a fruitful and stable home.

The Chairman of a Social Club, “Efio Ete Block” in Calabar, Cross River State, Mr. Morris Ekere gave the advice on Saturday, August 9, at the solemnization of the holy matrimony between Sister Victoria Effiong Bassey and Brother Ndiana Udofia Idem at The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Ikot Ansa District, Ikot Efa Area, Calabar Field, Cross River State Territory.

Mr. Ekere who spoke through the Association secretary, Mr. George Israel Akpan who doubles as CEO of Drone Reality & Resources Limited said instead of putting their trust on carnal and mundane things which does not last in a relationship, they should rather embrace Jesus Christ, the giver of peace, true love and joy.

In his admonition at the joining of the couples, a guest minister, Pastor Sampson Aderibigbe of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) said “A great marriage is not when perfect couple come together, but when two imperfect people who decide to be couples learn to endure their differences and work towards perfection by leaning on Jesus Christ as their foundation in the family and home”.

Referencing Mathew Chapter 7:25 “And the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that House: and it fell not, for it was founded on the rock” he explained that any marriage that is built on Jesus Christ survives every temptation from the devil whenever he strikes.

The wedding ceremony was conducted by Pastor J. I Enya, The Deputy Field Superintendent of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Calabar Field, assisted by Pastor S. A. Igwe, District Pastor of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Ikot Ansa District and Assistant Pastor Ndarake Ita who is a Chief Magistrate with the Cross River State Judiciary.

The Marriage Service featured songs by visiting RCCG Choir and exchange of marriage vows and presentation of marriage certificate to the couple.
