NGE Thumbs up Infrastructural development in Rivers
The Nigerian Guild of Editors has applauded the Rivers State governor for the many landmarks and self-sustaining quality projects embarked upon by his administration across the state.
Members of the guild who are in the state to verify the projects carried out by the state government also commended Governor Wike for investing in the people and in the future of the state.
The visit followed an invitation by Governor Wike, who had on a number of occasions, challenged the guild to visit Rivers state, to personally see and verify claims of his achievements.
The tour commenced from the New Government House Clinic now being furnished and fitted with the latest medical equipment. The good news is that the public would also have access to the health facility.
The next port of call was the newly completed Rebisi Flyover Bridge.
It is one of the five flyover bridges simultaneously being constructed in the state capital. The others are at Okoro-no-du, Rumuogba, GRA, and Rumuola.
Apart from transforming the landscape, the bridges will go a long way in easing the traffic nightmare suffered by residents in the ever-growing capital city.
Another iconic project visited was the Real Madrid Academy, A pet project of Governor Nyesom Wike, designed to equip young talents with the skills and discipline they require to be great athletes. It is also been designed to give the children basic and secondary education. All is now set for the full take-off of the academy.
The last project site visited was the Mother and Child Specialist Hospital, one of the huge investments made by the Wike administration in the state’s health sector. With the commissioning date set for November, the hospital would provide much needed specialized care in the areas of pediatric, obstetric, and gynecology to the people of the state and south-south region.
