Niger Delta Group issues 30-Day Ultimatum to FG to fix Calabar-Itu road

A Niger-Delta Activists Forum has given the Federal Government a 30-day ultimatum to complete work on the Calabar-Itu road or face shutdown of the road.

Addressing journalists in Calabar, the National President of the Forum, Success Jack warned sternly against any further delay by the government to mobilize contractors to the site and ease travel difficulties for citizens during this festive period.

The group said it will no longer accept lame excuses always put forward each time issues of the road are raised with the Supervising Minister.

It called on President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly intervene before the expiration of the thirty days.

The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola (SAN), had during his visit to the road assured the community and other road users the project will be given priority funding through the SUKUK bond, something the Niger Delta group now views as “empty promises”.
