NIGERA AT 60: CLERIC CALLS FOR REPENTANCE
The Senior Pastor of ASSEMBLIES of God Church State Housing, Grace Arena, Rev. Festus Afabe has call for repentance and total submission to God for Nigeria to progress as she celebrate her 60th Independence Anniversary.
Rev. Afabe made the call in a sermon he delivered this morning to commemorate the event and took his text from Proverbs 14:34. He said any Nation or person still struggling to stabilize and optimize his or her potentials without success must do a self-check to see why things are going wrong as righteousness exalts a nation and sin is a reproach to any people.
He therefore urged Nigerians in all fields of endeavor to abhor corruption and other vices which endanger physical and economic growth.
Also speaking in their local churches, Apostle Jeremiah O. Udoh of Redeemed Victory Mount of Salvation Deliverance Ministry Inc., Ikot Effa and Bishop Essien Ubong Essien of Divine Covenant Zion Church, at old Parliamentary village Calabar, admonished Nigerians to humble themselves, forsake sin and pray and seek the face of GOD to heal our land, referening 2nd Chronicles 7:14.
An anniversary cake was cut by Rev. Afabe with ace broadcaster Okokon Ukpanyang in attendance at the service.
