Nigerian cleric calls for prayers to commemorate anniversary of September 11 attack on World Trade Center, others
As the world remembers victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks commonly referenced as 9/11 where four coordinated Islamist suicide terrorists Al-Qaeda carried out attack against the United State on Tuesday September 11, 2001 hijacking four commercial airlines and crashing two of the planes into the twin Towers of the world Trade Center in New York City, USA, two of the world’s Five tallest buildings at the time.
The third plane crashed into the Pentagon, the headquarters of the U.S Department of Defense in Arlington County, Virginia, while the fourth crashed in rural Pennsylvania following a passenger revolt. The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people and opened the flood gate for the multi-decade global war on terrorism.
A Nigerian preacher and lead pastor of Gospel House, Home of The Gospel Deliverance Ministry International with Headquarters in Calabar, Cross River State, Pastor James John has reminded Christians all over the world and lovers of universal peace to continue to pray for souls of the victims of the ill-fated incident and their survivors to mark the day.
Pastor James John while fielding question from newsmen on Monday September 11, 2023 said though time heals wounds, the injury inflicted on the Psyche of those the victims left behind would be had to heal and to forget.
Recall on May 2, 20211 after 10years of the incidence, Osama-Binladen, the founder and the first leader of the Islamist militant group “Al-Qaeda” was shot and killed at his compound in the Pakistani City of Abbottabad by United States Navy Seals Team Six also known as DEVGRU in an operation code-named “OPERATION NEPTUNE Spear.
The success of the operation ended a nearly decade-long manhunt for Osama bin-laden, who was accused of masterminding the September 11, 2001 attack on the United States which also took the lives of people from Nigeria and other worlds.
In addition, he ceased the occasion to call for prayers for souls of victims of the Marrakesh earthquake, the strongest in a century in the North Africa county where rural communities are most hard hit by temblor that has claimed almost 2100 lives as rescuers in Morocco are searching for survivors from last Friday’s powerful earthquake.
Morocco’s King Mohamed VI has declared three days of mourning and ordered mosques nationwide to hold funeral prayers and thanked several countries for sending aid after the earthquake.
