Nigerian Maritime Agency opens maritime museum

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) over the weekend said it has concluded plans for the official opening of a Maritime Museum, said to be the first in Africa.

The agency, in a statement issued over the weekend, affirmed that “all is set for the official opening” of the museum.

The statement said: “While inspecting the museum this weekend, NIMASA DG Dr Bashir Jamoh noted that the museum will serve purposes such as archiving, educating stakeholders and tourism for both local and international tourists”.

The museum is located within the new NIMASA head office building at Ademola Adetokumbo, Victoria Island, Lagos.
