Nigeria’s Burna Boy appreciates Ghana’s Makola market women with billboard for dancing to his song ‘City Boy’ in a viral video

Nigerian megastar musician, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu aka Burna Boy surprised both fans and onlookers when he celebrated with a group of Makola Market women in Accra, Ghana by putting up a billboard at Makola in Accra, adorning it with their images as a gesture of appreciation for their participation in the challenge competition.

In the viral video, the excited women joined the ‘City Boy’ challenge by the Nigerian singer. The video was first shared by popular Ghanaian dancer, Official Starter, who is also widely known for his viral videos with the market women dancers.

The women had made a viral video for his song, City Boys as they danced joyfully in the market to his hit song. The viral dance video of the market women was posted on TikTok on September 18, 2023 video created by Official Starter, a Ghanaian dancer known for his “Happy Town Project.” The video already has over 3.7 million views.

On October 4, 2023, Burnaboy took to his Instagram with a heartwarming video announcing that he purchased a billboard space that read, “Burnaboy loves the market women from the happy town project.”

The song City Boys is a part of his hit album I Told Them with singles like Tested, Approved and Trusted hitting #1 on various charts.

‘City Boy’ is one of the songs on the “Africa Giant’ singer’s latest album, ‘I Told Them’. The seventh studio album by the Nigerian singer was released on 25 August 2023 through Atlantic, Spaceship Records, and Bad Habit.

The album features guest appearances from 21 Savage, Dave, Seyi Vibez, J. Cole, GZA and RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, and Byron Messia.
