Nigeria’s First Lady donates food items to vulnerable groups in Cross River

Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and National Chairman of Renewed Hope Initiative has donated food items to vulnerable groups in Cross River State.

The event took place on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at women development center, Parliamentary extension, Calabar under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Social Investment Program (Food Outreach Scheme) after courtesy visit to the Governor Prince Bassey Edet Otu.

The first Lady who was represented by Her Excellency, Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima, Wife of the Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria had in her entourage, Hajiya Fatima Tajudeen Abbas wife of Speaker of the house of Representatives, Mrs. Rachael Owan Enoch, Wife of Minister of State Ministry of Trade and Industry, Mrs Titi Ndifon, South-South women Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) and members of National Council of Women Societies.

Host and First Lady of Cross River State Bishop (Mrs.) Eyoawan Bassey Otu implored the vulnerable folks in the society to appreciate the efforts of the First Lady Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu to mitigate their suffering with her kind gesture as Mother of the Nation.

Dignitaries who were present at the occasion were  Mrs. Nelly Elvert Ayambem, wife of the Speaker of State House of Assembly, Hon. Edema Eyong, Commissioner for Women Affairs Cross State, Hon. Majorie Asuquo, former Chairman of Calabar South Local Government Area and D.G Women Development Center. Others were the wife of Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mrs. Emmanuel Ironbar, Special Adviser to the Governor on General Duties, Barr. Ekpenyong Akiba and members of Cross River State Executive Council among other high profile guests.

Women and vulnerable groups from the 18 Local Government Areas of the State witnessed the formal handing over of food items from the Renewed Hope Initiative which is a brain Child of the First Lady and Wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
