NIPR visits communications faculty of UNICROSS to boost practice
Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Cross River State chapter has paid a courtesy visit to the faculty of Communication Technology, University of Cross River State.
The NIPR Chairman, Cross River State chapter, Ben Okache intimated the Dean of Faculty, staff, and students about the profession and why there is need for them to be a member.
Responding, the Dean of the Faculty Professor Jacob Agba lauded the State NIPR for extending a hand of fellowship to the school, faculty, and students, adding that it is important to build the image of the school, State and the nation.
In addition to the mission of providing a professional structure for the practice of public relations, it also aims to enhance the image of public relations in Nigeria.
The high point of the familiarization visit was interactions and group photographs.
NIPR was established in 1963. The body attained the status of a Chartered Institute in June 1990 through Decree No. 16 (now an Act of the National Assembly) from which it derives the power and responsibility to register members, set parameters of knowledge to be acquire to qualify to practice, regulate the practice and development of the Public Relations Profession as well as monitor professional conducts through an established Code of Ethics, amongst others.
