NMA Cross River branch embarks on indefinite strike over kidnapped members
Members of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Cross River State have declared an indefinite strike action over their kidnapped colleagues.
NMA, Cross River Chapter in a release signed by its chairman, Dr. Felix Archibong, and Secretary Dr. Etim Amaku said the Association took the action in solidarity with their members who are in captivity.
A staff member with the General Hospital Ugep, Dr. Joshua Omini and Dr. Ekpo Egong of the General Hospital Calabar was the latest to be whisked away by unknown gunmen alongside the Project Manager of Faith Global International Services Ltd, aka Faith Plant by name on Friday, November 18, 2022, demanding N100 million for the two medical doctors as Ransom before their release by the captors.

The association charged the government to take proactive steps and activate all necessary instruments at its disposal to ensure the timely and unconditional release of its members from the hands of the abductors while regretting any hardship these decisions may cause to its members and the general public.
Members observed the deplorable state of the road especially from Okomita to Uyanga all in Akamkpa Local Government Area which distorts vehicular movement making it easy for criminal elements to perpetuate their evil intentions in the Area.
