NORFIN Offshore to roll out new 50 crew capacity ship

Weeks after Governor Udom Emmanuel commissioned a 9-meter Vessel at the Norfin Offshore Shipyard Factory in Oruk Anam local government area of Akwa Ibom State, a new ship is already at an advanced stage of production.

This was disclosed by the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Engr. Charles Udonwa when the media team of the state governor led by Essien Ndueso and Aniekeme Finbarr, visited the boat yard.

The difference between the new vessel and the earlier one, according to Udonwa, is that the former is a Fast Security Escort Vessel, while the new one has the capacity to ferry 50 passengers

Norfin Offshore Shipyard is the first Ship Manufacturing Factory in South South/South East Region and the Management obliged the media crew a cruise from Oruk Anam through Ikot Abasi Boatyard and Opobo in River state.

Norfin Offshore Shipyard is located at Oruk Anam local government area and has a workforce of 85, expandable to 3000 in three years.

Located within the Liberty Oil and Gas Free Trade Zone of the state, the shipyard is part of the outcome of the Governor’s Foreign Direct Investment Initiative and is in concert with the maritime development programme of the Completion Agenda
