NUJ Cross River chapter to partner Queen of Humanity Naija 2024
The idea of Her Excellency Rev. (Mrs.) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, the first lady of Cross River State to add pageantry to spice Carnival Calabar has elicited the attention of members of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Cross River State Chapter who have agreed to partner with the organisers to bolster tourism in the State.
The novel package designed for young women between the age bracket 18-30 in the State to select the most beautiful girl as queen and scheduled to span the period of the carnival November 1st to December 27th 2024, offers mouth-watering prizes in this second edition.
Comrade Archibong Bassey, first female Chairman of Cross River State NUJ made the disclosure at the NUJ Press Centre in Calabar on Friday October 25th, 2024 while assuring Michael Moses, Producer of 2nd Edition of Queen of Humanity 2024 Beauty Pageant over his appealed for synergy from the media to compliment project QOH Naija 2024.
Queen of Humanity Naija 2024, the winner will take home N42m and a brand new SUV car as star prize aside other categories of prizes to be won by contestants who are scheduled to pay courtesy visits to chairmen of the 18 Local Government Areas in the State to solicit and garner support on the need to imbibe ethical values in the girl-child. The achievement of this would enhance the dream and vision of her Excellency who has promised to sustain the program throughout her tenure.
Moral and ethical values are critical in the introduction of different sides of the Beauty pageant including mentorship unlike 2023 Queen of Humanity Nigeria contestants that depended on personal efforts devoid of local content and aligning with the essence of Carnival Calabar. which is why 2024 is different According to the Senior Special Advisor Administration to Her Excellency Rev. (Mrs.) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, Dr. Comfort Oko, 2024 Queen of Humanity pageantry is different and positioned to address these shortcomings.
Dignitaries that graced the occasion were Nsa Ekpenyong – Project Manager, QOH Naija 2024 of the Cross River State Carnival Commission, Comrade Mike Abang, Secretary of NUJ, Cross River State chapter among other attendees who participated in the question and answer session to progress the agenda of Her Excellency Rev. (Mrs.) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu towards female folks particularly girls whom she belief should have same rights and opportunities as men in the society.
Queen of Humanity Naija 2024 is slated to climax at Calabar International Conference Centre (CICC) summit Hills, Calabar, Cross River State.
