Obubra traditional rulers council endorse APC governorship candidate for 2023 election

The Cross River State Back-To-South Political agenda for the 2023 general elections received a boost with the endorsement of the All Progressives Congress APC governorship Candidate Senator Prince Bassey Otu at the Palace of the Paramount Ruler. HRM, Ovarr Clement Ewona by the traditional ruler’s council of Obubra Local Government on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

The Royal Fathers who recalled the role played by their Son and Former Deputy Governor of the State, Mr. John Okpa in the emergence of Mr. Donald Duke from the South as governor of the State said they were against the Clandestine plot by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sandy Ojang Onor to wrestle power with Prince Otu from the Southern Senatorial District whose turn it is to produce the next governor in tandem with the rotation of power equation in the state.

They contended that since governor Ayade from the north is near completing his eight years after the center had taken its turn with Senator Liyel Imoke completing his two terms of eight years, it is now the turn of the south to enjoy the same opportunity to strike a balance in the polity.

Speaking at the rally in Obubra, the APC guber candidate Senator Bassey Otu assured the people that he will scale up the agricultural value chain thereby making Obubra a leading agricultural hub in the State with a promise to provide road infrastructures linking various communities in the Local Government Area to the national grid.
