Osimhen Penalty Loss Video: As reaction trail video, Napoli boss reacts to striker deleting club images on Instagram for being disrespected

The Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is currently embroiled in an ugly feud with Napoli after the Italian club mocked the star in a viral video on social media over his penalty miss on Sunday during the Serie A clash versus Bologna.

The Italian club won a penalty in the 72nd minute of the tie, with Osimhen stepping up to take it. However, the Super Eagles star failed to convert the spot kick as the match ended in a goalless draw.

In a now-deleted post on TikTok, Napoli shared a video after the game depicting the striker missing from the spot along with a high-pitched voiceover mocking the Nigerian.

The goalless draw away from home with Bologna which otherwise would have been won if the penalty was scored by Osimhen would have changed the narrative of Neapolitans’ slow start to the new Serie A season.

Napoli’s decision to mock the striker for the penalty miss on their official TikTok account is understood to have left him disappointed, with his agent, Roberto Calenda threatening to take legal action.

Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen has reacted to Napoli’s TikTok post, which sought to mock him for missing a penalty, by deleting all club-related photos and videos from his Instagram account.

In the wake of the lingering feud, a video has now surfaced showing Osimhen appearing to snub his teammates.

The short clip shared on X (formerly Twitter) showed the former Lille star walking past his teammates without saying a word, with one even stretching his arm for a handshake or high-five.

In the video, Osimhen, who was clad in Napoli’s kit, shook hands with a yet-to-be-identified man and ignored his teammates, including Diogo Demme and Piotr Zielinski.

The 24-year-old was impressive for the Neapolitan outfit last season, with his goal-scoring prowess helping the club lift the Serie A title for the first time in around 30 years.

Earlier, Sports Brief also reported Osimhen could face a fine from Napoli after he clashed with his manager after being substituted off against Bologna on September 24.
