Otu salutes Ebri at 72; eulogizes him as a father, role model, statesman and an administrator

Cross River State Governor, Sen. Bassey Otu has described former Governor Clement Ebri as a father, role model, statesman and an administrator whose invaluable contributions to the development of the state remain indelible.

In a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nsa Gill, celebrating Chief Ebri on his 72nd birthday, Governor Otu lauded the celebrant for several of his achievements while as governor of Cross River State from 1991 to 1993.

“Your tutelage and mentorship of several leaders after you, over the years has had great influence in the development of Cross River in so many ways,” Otu eulogized the elder statesman.

“I value your immense contributions, your fatherly role and guidance over the years in shaping the economic and political landscape of our dear state as one of your enduring legacies. This is not something Cross Riverians will forget in a hurry.”

The governor noted the visionary leadership of the former governor within and outside the state as well as his contributions to the growth of the nation, particularly in encouraging leaders and citizens to uphold unity and promote peace and love.

“As you celebrate your 72nd birthday, I want to on behalf of the government and the good people of Cross River State wish you God’s continued blessings, protection and good health to enable you render your fatherly role to our people and humanity.”
