The caption reads: “We join the good people of Ogbomoso and, indeed, Oyo State to congratulate Prince Adebayo Ayodeji Temitope #cheftopemaggie on completing his 200-hour Cookathon. He started cooking on Thursday, 9 November 2023, at 6:31 p.m. and ended earlier today, Saturday, 18 November 2023, at 2.31 a.m.

We look forward to the final verification and award of the new world record by the Guinness World Record #GWR team.”

Recall Guinness World Records had confirmed Hilda Baci as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon.

This was confirmed on their official website which read, “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes,” GWR said in a statement released on Tuesday, one month after Baci’s adventurous cooking.

“The 26-year-old Nigerian chef began on Thursday 11 May and continued through to Monday 15 May, cooking over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stint.

“Hilda attempted to set a record of 100 hours, however, almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.”

Baci, an Akwa Ibom State native, surpassed the record for the longest cooking time by an individual, with a 93-hour record time, thereby beating Indian chef, Lata Tondon, who previously held the record after cooking for 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019.
