PDP Crisis: Ayade reverses on plan to dump party

In what could be seen as political summersault, Governor Ben Ayade the Cross River State Governor has dropped his earlier plan to cross carpet to the ruling APC due to infighting bothering on the replacement for late Senator Rose Oko between the two gladiators- Senator Steven Odey in Ayade’s camp and incumbent House of Reps member, Hon Jerigbe Agom Jerigbe.

Governor Ayade hosted three PDP Governors: Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, Sokoto; Hon. Ifeanyi Uguanyi, Enugu and Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta. He said while conducting his highprofile guests round some of the signature projects of his administration that their visit is apt to resolving the crisis bedeviling PDP in the state.

Ayade said the party in the state will emerge stronger and more cohesive as the umbrella would accommodate all aggrieved parties as one family.

It would be recalled that Governor Ayade had threatened to do the needful to claim leadership of the party if the National Assembly caucus declines his benefitting from the same privileges’ he accorded them during the last election primaries in the state.
