PDP Governors meet in Port Harcourt; Aggrieved Governorship aspirants protest in Ado Ekiti

Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party are converging on the Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt for a meeting.

The Governors of Enugu, Abia, Benue, Oyo, Bauchi, and the Adamawa States as well as the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State arrived in Rivers on Sunday.

Others that have arrived so far today are the Governors of Bayelsa and Taraba States.

The agenda of the meeting is unclear but there are speculations that the discussions would revolve around the future of the PDP ahead of the 2023 general election.

Meanwhile, some aggrieved PDP Governorship aspirants, Biodun Olujimi and Segun Oni Monday lead a protest against the former Governor Ayodele Fayose accusing him of hijacking the ward congress held on Saturday 15th January 2022.

Some party faithful joined the protest this morning calling for the indefinite suspension of Fayose from the PDP.

The party leaders accused Fayose of sabotaging the efforts of the party by collating ward excos at a private event center owned by him while the real congress was ongoing in the 177 wards of the State.

They urged the National Working Committee to disregard any purported list sent by Ayodele Fayose to the party secretariat in Abuja as they declared that there is no congress held in the State.
